ASEA-UNINET International Community Outreach Program 2020 – 2022 conducted by Airlangga University in collaboration with Diponegoro University

The International Community Outreach Program is a one-week program designed to offer participants a once-in-a-lifetime experience that allows them to explore and respond to the actual social life issues, and assist the community to overcome problems. Adapting the 1st – End Poverty and the 3rd – Good Health and Well-being – of Sustainable Development Goals, this year’s program has a theme about Stunting Prevention Acceleration. It is as part of a response to target 1.3 and 3.2 – implements nationally appropriate social protection systems and measures for all, including floors, and by 2030 achieve substantial coverage of the poor and the vulnerable; and by 2030, end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age, with all countries aiming to reduce neonatal mortality to at least as low as 12 per 1,000 live births and under-5 mortality to at least as low as 25 per 1,000 live births.

After a successful event last year in Surabaya and Sidoarjo, the program will be held in Surabaya and Semarang by conducting a collaboration between Universitas Airlangga and Universitas Diponegoro under the ASEA-UNINET consortium in which generates this program entitled ASEA-UNINET International Community Outreach Program: Stunting Prevention Acceleration.

The aim of ASEA-UNINET International Community Outreach Program 2020: Stunting Prevention Acceleration is to bridge and optimize the role of academia, both students and researchers, in stunting prevention. The direct interaction with the community and the gathering of experts on these fields are expected to have an impact on the emerging of new ideas and collaborations that can support and accelerate the decreasing of stunting rate.
