Seminar about Bioeconomy at BOKU University: Fostering Vietnam-Austria Collaboration
The global shift towards a sustainable, bio-based economy has gained significant momentum. To address this pressing issue, BOKU University, Vienna and Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Hanoi (VNUA) organised a seminar titled „Bioeconomy at BOKU: Scientific and Technological Aspects“ on October 30, 2024. The keynote lecture was given by Prof. Christian Obinger, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at BOKU, presenting an overview of BOKU’s history, mission, vision, specialised faculties, and training programmes in this area, underscoring BOKU’s commitment to advancing bioeconomy research and education. This was followed by a lively discussion focusing on gaining deeper insights into research directions and exploration of the potential for applying bioeconomy concepts in Vietnam.
