„Romeo and Juliet“ – a collaboration between mdw, Austria, and Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema, Vietnam

In April 2018 the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) sent two full professors of performing arts to Vietnam. Beverly Blankenship and Anna Maria Krassnigg developed and rehearsed a performance of William Shakespeare’s „Romeo and Juliet“ with students of the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema (HATC). The documentary attends the artistic work abroad and looks behind the scenes of a collaboration with enormous benefits for students and universities.

This collaboration project of international artistic, educational and cultural exchange has been conducted by ASEA-UNINET members mdw and Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema (ASEA-UNINET candidate member until February 2019). We are glad that Hanoi Academy of Theatroe and Cinema became a full member of ASEA-UNINET at this year’s ASEA-UNINET Plenary Meeting, hold from 22nd to 25th February 2019 at the University of Danang in Danang, Vietnam.
