Project Description
Implementation Period:
13. – 19.02.2024
Project:
Masterclasses which focus on interpretation concepts in“performance of music“ while linking musical and instrumental excellence. The skills in transforming these concepts to the audience in a most natural and convincing, but nevertheless uncompromising way is a substantial goal of these classes which are offered to the students of the host institution. While using state of the art editions of scores they should, however, be enabled to enjoy a freedom in music making which certainly is linked to a most natural flow and breathing of music but on the other hand requires the understanding of a complex musical texture and the use of rhetoric elements. Besides these skills in performing, the classes also explore the essential skills in preparing and rehearsing for performances. Strategies of peer teaching/learning might be somehow unfamiliar to many students but clearly point out the necessity of getting feedback from any imaginable source to enable a most efficient development within one‘s personality and even career.
The focus was generally orientated in delivering a clear understanding of the musical language and intensity within the pieces as well as the improvement of the technical skills to express the emotions most naturally. The expected value of this activity is an extended and fruitful collaboration with the Mahidol University and may hopefully facilitate the exchange of students. Whole chamber music projects in exchange might be the next step in future activities.
