The University of Brescia organised an international conference in early June on the topic "Water, Climate, and Socio-economic impact on Rice Crops: from Local to Global Scale"

Freitag, 17. Juli 2015 - 13:36 Uhr

On the 5th of June the University of Brescia organised a conference on the topic of "Water, Climate, and Socio-economic impact on Rice Crops: from Local to Global Scale". Locally, in reference to northern Italy, as well as globally, rice is a very essential source of nutrition. Challenges as legal frameworks, social pressure and natural risks as the global climate change make it an important issue to deal with.

For the conference, speakers from three universities of ASEA-UNINET were invited: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Kasetsart University in Thailand and the University of Brescia. Another university, not yet part of the ASEA-UNINET, still expressed its interest for the network: Thuyloi University, Hanoi.

Brescia organized the conference as a contribution to the debate on “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, the theme of EXPO2015, the Universal Exhibition held in Milan from May to October 2015.

The report can downloaded by the following link.
